On Fire Bar and Grill: Authentic Latin Flavors and Comfort Food in Newton, KS

Love this place so much! Always delicious food. Occasionally iffy on the waitresses, but they are always kind, they've only ever made one mistake with my order and very kindly took it back and had it corrected. My only complain (and reason for four stars instead of five) is their alcohol sucks.their bar/bartender needs some work and I think they should expand the drinks they offer. Overall a nice, clean place, and our new favorite Mexican spot in town!

This food is so good! I’m from California and have traveled to both Central and South America. This is authentic and flavorful! Well worth a trip to Newton, Kansas. The picture only has one taco left, it was so good.

My partner and I ate at On Fire today and as usual, it did not disappoint! The place is clean and we are always greeted with a genuine smile from our server. She is intuitive and quick to know what we might need. I know the menu is Latin but they have the best California Burger!!! The fries are well seasoned! Cooked exactly as I requested. I took half my meal home the burger is so big.

Excellent food. Diverse menu. Good service. An initial review of On Fire Latin Bar & Grill. The store resides in a strip mall, which is an excellent omen as most great restaurants in America reside in unassuming strip malls of suburbia (IMHO.) The menu ranges from Central American cuisine heading on up through Mexico and into the USA. The atmosphere is fairly sterile, but clean, and comfortable enough. The bar is small, don’t expect to belly-up. However, said bar is well stocked, and most importantly has draft beer. The service…. Excellent! Tonight on, our first visit, we had the chimichanga, a kids burger, Honduran Style Chicken and several frosty cold Bud Lights. The chimichanga was good; par for the course. Crunchy and very filling, a hefty portion to be sure. The side of refried beans were good, the rice bland (I can’t verify). I’d always recommend ordering off the “specials” section of the menu initially, but some like to play it safe. Not me tho! I can’t review the kids burger and fries but it looked good. The star of the show was absolutely the Honduran Style Chicken. The dish was superb. Chicken quarters fried (no breading) until that skin has the perfect crunch, yet the meat remains moist. The chicken sits on a bed of starchy plantain slices and topped with a cabbage slaw. Somehow it all comes together into one of the best dishes Ive had in a long while. I recommend this dish. It’s gonna be hard working through the menu knowing that Honduran chicken is on the menu. Definitely worth checking out!!
